John S. Boyden, Jr., M.D., J.D.
Of Counsel
Dr. Boyden’s background in food and drug law, medicine and research enables him to analyze a client’s situation from both scientific and legal perspectives. He has extensive experience working with teams of scientists in the design and execution of research protocols and data analysis to further the strategic goals of clients. He has a broad background in information technology and has assisted clients in overcoming challenges related to study design, data collection, processing, and presentation. He has represented clients in meetings with FDA and has drafted legislation and lobbied its passage in both the United States Congress and the Utah State Legislature.
Prior to joining KKB in 2008, Dr. Boyden was in private practice in Salt Lake City, Utah. From 2000 to 2004, he was Assistant Attorney General of the State of Utah and is a past-president of the American College of Legal Medicine. He was also an Adjunct Associate Professor of Applied Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Utah College of Pharmacy, where he taught classes in pharmacy law for thirteen years. Dr. Boyden has additionally taught seminars in medical-legal problems in the undergraduate Honors Program at the University of Utah.
