Bonnie Beavers is a partner who has been with the firm since 1986. Her practice focuses primarily on regulation of foods, drugs, dietary supplements, medical devices, cosmetics, and consumer products, including their marketing and advertising. Ms. Beavers has substantial expertise in product development, approval and safety issues, labeling and advertising claim substantiation, sales and marketing practice, and related issues involving the FDA, USDA, CPSC, as well as other federal and state authorities. Her background includes civil litigation and appeals before U.S. district courts, courts of appeal, and the Supreme Court involving seizures and injunctions by the FDA. She regularly advises clients in all aspects of consumer health products, particularly in formulation, labeling, advertising and promotion issues, and competitor complaints including those before the National Advertising Division of the Better Business Bureau. Ms. Beavers enjoys developing strategies for immediate compliance and long-term problem-solving, such as avoiding product liability exposure or participating in agency rulemaking and drafting comments on laws affecting industry and consumers.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Beavers engaged in products liability trial and appellate work. She has taught food and drug law classes, published articles, and lectured on legal topics. Ms. Beavers previously served as the Federal Bar Association Food & Drug Subcommittee co-chair, and has provided editorial assistance on publications of the Food and Drug Law Institute as well as serving on FDLI committees.
